Even though Al Nassr had a strong start to the season, it appears that things are falling apart. The club hasn’t had much luck on the field yet. Cristiano Ronaldo and company might have a trophy-free season if they don’t win the King Cup. But even in the background, the team is undergoing a significant transformation. The Knights of Najd are reportedly open to splitting from renowned audit and consulting company Deloitte.
Reports on X state that Al Nassr is working to terminate the services of Deloitte within a month. The reason has not been revealed and it is still unknown if Al Nassr has agreed terms with another company. Deloitte’s work with the club was aimed at building a new administrative, financial and legal organization and keeping up with the current development of sports in the country.
It has also been reported that Deloitte prepares financial assessments for leagues and clubs. Interestingly, they had produced a financial analysis of the 2023 transfer window for the Saudi Pro League. How Cristiano Ronaldo’s side will be affected by the multibillion dollar company’s exit is unknown at this time. It is possible, nevertheless, that this is related to the latest round of administrative changes at the club.
There is a behind-the-scenes leadership change at Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr. It was recently reported that Musalli Al Muammar, the president of Al Nassr, has resigned. Notably, Muammar joined the team in 2021 and served as president of the Roshn Saudi League from 2018 to 2020. Superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane were signed thanks in large part to Muammar’s influence. While the club searches for a new president, it is anticipated that an acting official would take over the role for the balance of the season. Muammar is not the only well-known departure, though.
In addition, Prince Khalid bin Fahd, who was instrumental in Muammar’s appointment, wishes to quit the team. It is also reported that the entire board of directors is eager to go in the same direction as Fahd. Al Nassr would therefore need to hold fresh elections. Whether these exits are connected to the team’s on-field accomplishments is still unknown. Nonetheless, the team’s results over the previous two seasons probably wouldn’t please high management. Benfica has not yet won a significant championship under Luis Castro, despite the arrival of a superstar such as Cristiano Ronaldo. How do you feel about Al Nassr’s play this season? Do you believe that the team’s dismal performance is related to the recent changes in the leadership?
