No. 2 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian defeated the UTSA Roadrunners and head coach Jeff Traylor 56-7 at DKR on September 14. Texas got a lot of people on the field to clear the bench and earn critical live-game reps in the second half against UTSA in a 49-point win at DKR in week three. Sarkisian and the Longhorns earned nearly 70 live-game reps from their Saturday night victory over the Roadrunners. This is the second time this season that the Longhorns have advanced more than two levels on the depth chart after three weeks of non-conference action.
Texas suffered some injuries in Week 3 versus UTSA, particularly to redshirt junior starting quarterback Quinn Ewers. The Longhorns will be dealing with offensive injuries as they prepare to face the UL-Monroe Warhawks in Week 4. The Longhorns will not release an official injury report until next week, when SEC play begins. But Sarkisian did provide a few injury updates during his Monday press conference on September 16. Here are three major injury updates for the Longhorns ahead of their Week 4 game at home versus ULM.
