Kate Garraway told fans she was feeling ’emotional’ as she took her daughter, Darcey, to university for the first time following the loss of the teen’s dad, Derek DraperKate Garraway bid a heartbreaking farewell to her daughter, Darcey, on the weekend as she went off to university.
The mum-of-two, 57, shared a video with her followers of a car loaded up with the teenager’s belongings, including two heartbreaking items.
Telling her fans she was feeling “emotional” about Darcey’s milestone, Kate shared a snap of a box in the back of a car outside her home in North London, which had a family photo and one of Derek’s beloved Panama hats inside.
Detailing her day with Darcey, 18, who lost her dad, Derek, to long Covid in January, the Good Morning Britain star said: “And just like that she was off! That tiny helpless baby we brought home from hospital 18 yrs ago has gone to #uni! Just like thousands of other parents this weekend I was playing that game of Jenga trying to get it all in the car. Thank goodness my beloved Victor has a massive boot!”
