Jodie Foster Says Her Sons Are ‘Insecure’ About Their Fledgling Careers but She’s ‘Thrilled’ for Their ‘Future’ (Exclusive
The Emmy-winning actress and her former partner Cydney Bernard are parents to Charlie, 26, and Kit, 22.
Although Jodie Foster is unsure of the career path her sons may choose, she is there for them at every turn.
After accepting her first Emmy for her performance in True Detective: Night Country, Foster spoke to PEOPLE at the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, California. During the speech, Foster thought about how her two kids, Charles and Kit, are just starting their own careers.
They’re insecure about what will happen because they’re starting their careers at that age, Foster tells PEOPLE. “However, my heart just bursts into fourteen pieces every time they have a positive outcome, such as a “A,” a job, or an audition; I know that this is the formula for happiness. I have this memory of a lovely profession that is based on doing important work. I’m very excited for them and their future.”
