The recent tactical adjustment probably won’t deter Milan from making a move in the midfield in January. They had been plotting it since Ismael Bennacer picked up a serious calf injury. He got surgery in Finland and will be sidelined for four months.
It’s unclear what kind of contributor director Geoffrey Moncada will focus on, according to Calciomercato. Despite the fact that Youssouf Fofana and Yunus Musah have different traits, he and the coaching staff view Yunus Musah as a potential deputy for Youssouf Fofana. Carney Chukwuemeka was a target for Milan up until the very end of the window. Given that he isn’t a regular and they get along well with Chelsea, another try may be in the works. They are also keeping an eye on two midfielders who are more adept at defense: Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis and Lucas Gourna-Douath of RB Salzburg.
Samuele Ricci of Torino is a great favorite of the Rossoneri, but a winter transfer is improbable. Torino already profited from two stars last summer. His outstanding start has led to a sharp rise in his price.
Our Take on Milan
They should definitively go for it, as whatever they can get for Bennacer is a bonus at this point. The 4-4-2 formation will help them navigate the coming months, as they have a little more depth up front thanks to Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic. They arguably need multiple additions, as their midfield was built to play with a three-man line, and they have an odd collection of pieces all different from each other.
