Bucs re-sign RB Chase Edmonds to 1-year deal.
Running back Chase Edmonds has been re-signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a one-year contract, meaning that the team is keeping another of their own free agents, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
When healthy last season, Edmonds served as starting Rachaad White’s main backup. Based on his one-year deal, he will likely return in 2024 for a similar role.
This move probably eliminates the Bucs’ chance to use an early-round pick to select a No. 2 running back to go with White, but since Edmonds is a quicker, more elusive back, it wouldn’t be shocking if Tampa Bay continued to look for a power back later in the draft.
