Breaking News: As Robert Griffin III reveals Fever’s Caitlin Clark problem in loss to Sky

The clash between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky was a masterclass from two college rivals. Angel Reese absolutely took over for the home squad while Caitlin Clark was dropping all sorts of dimes to keep her squad afloat. It ended with an 88 to 87 scoreline which saw the Fever as the losing side. There could have been a lot of choices that could have helped them win this game for their eighth win of the season. But, Robert Griffin III noted one particular instance that should have happened.

last shot. That’s why you have her. For moments like that. Period,” Robert Griffin III proclaimed.

So, what did happen in the dying moments of this Fever vs. Sky clash? The final minute saw Kristy Wallace turn the ball over. That crucial mistake allowed Angel Reese to get a drive toward the basket for an easy two points. This put the Sky up two points with 53 seconds left. Kamilla Cardoso and Chennedy Carter were then fouled to give the Fever some hope but it also meant that they gambled with the 88 to 84 scoreline.

However, Aliyah Boston decided that the game was not over by knocking down a crucial three-pointer to make it a one-possession game with 19 seconds left in the game. The Fever elected to foul Marina Mabrey which paid off because she did not hit a single one of those two free throws.

This is where Robert Griffin III’s statement comes in. Instead of Clark taking that shot after she got the defensive rebound, Kristy Wallace chucked it up with seven seconds remaining. Boston would get an offensive rebound but the Fever did not use Clark’s shooting as well. The first overall pick of the 2023 WNBA Draft took the shot from 22 feet out and missed it. Angel Reese and the Sky rejoiced after this win.

A good game for the Fever rookie despite the outcome

Obviously, all people can do now is debate about that final shot but they will not be able to change the scoreline along with the win column entry. However, it should not overlook the fact that Clark was completely blazing it up on all ends of the floor. She was doing everything so that the Fever was just always within striking distance

Clark played 40 minutes and did not look like she wanted to leave the floor at all. She knocked down five of her seven three-point attempts and went 2 for 3 at the charity stripe. Her work on the offensive end was also historical because she notched a career-high 13 assists in this battle against the Sky. But, she can do a little better at handling the ball after the Sky had forced her to commit five turnovers.

On defense, she was also hounding every ball handler that the Sky threw at her. By the end of it, the Fever rookie had stolen the ball four times. It was an insane night for Clark. Truly, rivalry brings the best out of everyone
