Jahmyr Gibbs: What happened to him? Additionally, Nick Saban of Alabama football provided an update on Eli Ricks’ injuries.
For a large portion of the second half, Alabama football running back Jahmyr Gibbs was not on the field.
At Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, the Crimson Tide defeated Ole Miss 30–24, and although he was on the sidelines, he did not contribute to the offense in the second half.
After the game, Nick Saban claimed that Gibbs had twisted his ankle.
Gibbs played a limited amount for No. 9 Alabama (8-2, 5-2 SEC), taking six carries for three yards. He also caught a five-yard pass.
Jase McLellan was the main running back when Gibbs was not available.
“Jase stepped up tonight and took advantage of it,” Saban stated.
As Alabama and the Rebels continued to play close, he churned out some tough yards with 19 carries for 84 yards.
“He ran really hard in the game,” Saban told reporters. “Played physical.”
