Ament is quite pleased with Mark Pope’s performance.
Jason Marcum has covered the University of Kentucky for A Sea Of Blue since 2015 and the Cincinnati Bengals for Cincy Jungle since 2014.
Caleb Wilson may be the main target of the Kentucky Wildcats’ recruiting efforts, but they are still considering other elite recruits.
Actually, the top recruit Kentucky is still vying for is 5-star prospect Nate Ament.
According to Jamie Shaw of On3, Ament narrowed his list to 11 on Wednesday, and Kentucky is still in the running. Additionally still in the running are BYU, Duke, Georgetown, Kansas State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas.
The third-ranked prospect on On3 shared his thoughts about his interest in Kentucky and how much he has enjoyed watching what
“They’ve had a crazy first couple of games,” Ament remarked. It is crazy to witness anything like that when Coach (Make) Pope takes over as head coach and continues Kentucky’s success like it did under Coach Cal. They are playing quickly, scoring a lot of points, and making a lot of three-pointers under Coach Pope.
Although Ament has not yet made an official trip to Kentucky, there is still time for that to happen. Based on Caleb Wilson’s actions, one would assume it will or won’t occur. Sometime this month, Wilson is anticipated to make a choice. If he ends up somewhere else, expect Kentucky to fully support Ament.
But will it be too late if that happens? Ament is generally thought to have a strong preference for the Duke Blue Devils.
