Due to Brock Vandagriff’s injury, Gavin Wimsatt completes Kentucky’s defeat against Tennessee.
The Kentucky quarterbacks split another SEC game for the second week in a row.
Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats have dropped to 1-6 in SEC play with a 28-18 loss in Knoxville to the Tennessee Volunteers.
The Wildcats entered the night without announcing an official starter at the quarterback position, but Brock Vandagriff got the nod.
The staff seemed to be planning to play both early, but Vandagriff and the offense looked good on their first few drives.
The Cats jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after Vandagriff found a wide-open Josh Kattus for the first score of the evening.
Throughout the first half, Vandagriff led the offense on multiple drives that moved the ball down the field. However, that changed when Gavin Wimsatt took Brock’s place after he exited the game due to a head injury. In fact, after visiting the hospital, he tried unsuccessfully to rejoin the game.
