Thanks in large part to quarterback Patrick Mahomes’s talent—and his dad bod—the Kansas City Chiefs advanced to the Super Bowl this year. Mahomes’s physique, which he hasn’t been afraid to share with the public in recent years, recently made news in an article about the dad bod’s hidden secrets in The Athletic.
Last season, Mahomes made fun of himself and his dad bod on social media after an Inside the NFL video showed him celebrating in the Chiefs’ locker room without a shirt. After eight years in the league, Mahomes’ father’s body has perhaps become as iconic in Chiefs history as the quarterback himself. Nevertheless, at Monday night’s Super Bowl Media Day, a Chiefs fan shocked Mahomes by requesting him to sign a more unusual item. Mahomes was given a pillow with his face on one side and his bare torso on the other to sign. As a reflexive response, Mahomes said, “Come on, bro.” Then he took another look at the pillow.
Mahomes remarked, “Hey, the dad bod looks pretty good right there. I’m going to sign this side man, for sure.” “I would like to know which side you sleep on.”
In an attempt to complete the three-peat, the Chiefs quarterback, who will play in his fifth Super Bowl in six years this February, has no shame.
