The fact that the transfer window ends in less than a month will undoubtedly fuel more rumours about the whereabouts of third-tier players, especially those on the lower teams who wish to return to a higher division.

James Wilson was once a prodigy for Manchester United, scoring three goals in 15 appearances in the Premier League, but he eventually fell by the wayside at Old Trafford.

French defender Barnsley is expected to sign Mads Andersen for £3 million. Mads’ departure to Luton Town created a gap in Neil Collins’ defence, but his team is now prepared to strengthen that position ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Barnsley Chronicle reports that Mael de Gevigney, a 23-year-old centre back who now plays for Nimes in the French third division, is close to joining the Tykes.
Since De Gevigney is in the last year of his contract and Nimes was demoted from Ligue 2, Barnsley is expected to make a low-ball deal that will likely result in a permanent transfer.
Derby and Blackpool battle for Waghorn
Martyn Waghorn is a free agent, and both Derby County and Blackpool are interested in signing him. The Seasiders are believed to be leading the competition for the forward.
Waghorn, 33, left Coventry City when his contract ended earlier this summer. He has been training with Derby, his previous team, in an attempt to secure a contract. Waghorn is currently without a club.
Nevertheless, Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports has updated us on Waghorn’s status, stating that Blackpool, a League One team, is attempting to acquire him before the Rams do. He stated: “Derby and Blackpool both interested in a deal for free agent Martyn Waghorn, who left Coventry in May.”

Paul Warne is hoping to get back together with Michael Smith, the former striker for Rotherham United, after Daily Mirror writer James Nursey disclosed that Warne is Derby’s “primary target” for the summer.
