Fans of the Eagles will be mildly worried by the A.J. Brown injury update.
On Monday night, the Philadelphia Eagles seemed to be in great position to pull off a win against the Atlanta Falcons. For most of the game, it was a close contest, but in the waining moments of Monday Night Football, a pair of Eagles stars made costly mistakes.
Of course, it was a Saquon Barkley drop which led to the Falcons having life with under two minutes to go. Then, Kirk Cousins led the Falcons on a touchdown drive which ultimately put them ahead.
With one more chance, Jalen Hurts tossed an interception to end the game.
It was a tough way to end a night that already had some bitter news stewing in regards to wide receiver A.J. Brown, who was out with a hamstring injury. To many fans, this was a surprise as Brown came up on the injury report late in the week and was ultimately ruled out for this game.
Following the contest, head coach Nick Sirianni gave us an update on Brown, and it was anything but concrete. He was asked whether Brown would miss multiple games:
“We’ll observe. We’ll see. I’m not sure about it yet,” the head coach remarked. You are aware that I am not yet in a position to provide you with such knowledge. We’ll see that one through. For the most part, this was your standard response in coach language. However, it was telling that Sirianni provided not even the slightest bit of constructive advice. He appeared to imply—without saying—that the standout wide receiver will be sidelined for some time.
