Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins’ star wide receiver, has been dealing with a wrist injury all season long. Despite this, he suited up for the team’s Monday night game against the Los Angeles Rams and played through the pain.
Hill’s performance against the Rams was somewhat muted, as he only managed to rack up 16 receiving yards and three receptions. This was his second-lowest total in a single game this season.
Fortunately for the Dolphins, other players like Jaylen Waddle and Jonnu Smith stepped up to fill the void. They combined for 102 receiving yards, helping the team secure a 23-15 win and improve their record to 3-6.
After the game, Hill broke his silence on the wrist injury, revealing that he’s been dealing with it since the start of the season. He also mentioned that it was aggravated when he was handcuffed by police before the season opener.
Despite the injury, Hill has been a trooper and played through the pain. His dedication to the team is admirable, and head coach Mike McDaniel had high praise for him, calling him a “warrior” and saying that he’s “as good as it gets in this league.”
Hill’s performance this season has been somewhat of a letdown compared to his previous two seasons with the Dolphins. Last season, he was the NFL’s most productive receiver, finishing tops in the league in total receiving yards (1,799), receiving yards per game (112.4), and receiving touchdowns (13).
However, this season, Hill has only managed to rack up 462 receiving yards, which is a far cry from his usual standards. He doesn’t even rank in the top 25 among players in the league in total receiving yards.
Despite this, Hill remains a respected and admired player for his toughness and dedication. Fans are hoping that he’ll bounce back from his quiet showing against the Rams when the Dolphins take on the Las Vegas Raiders on November 17.
