SAD NEWS: As most of Man City key players did not agree with the deal.

Pep Guardiola contract demand made as Man City 115 charges outcome predicted.

More than 1,000 Manchester City supporters participated in a survey published by the Manchester Evening News following the end of the summer transfer window and here are the results.

An overwhelming percentage of Manchester City supporters believe the club should make tying Pep Guardiola down to a new deal their leading contract priority, according to a survey.

The Catalan has overseen an outstanding job since succeeding Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium and City supporters are desperate for him to stay – as highlighted by the results of a post-transfer window survey conducted by the Manchester Evening News.

Of the 1,348 votes that were submitted, 94 per cent of voters believe City should prioritise renewing Guardiola’s contract over Kevin De Bruyne’s. The latter’s current deal is also up next June.

Unsurprisingly, the demand for Guardiola’s deal to be renewed means that 93 per cent of City’s fans are currently ‘very happy’ with the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss. Four per cent said they are currently ‘content’ with his leadership.

As far as City’s ownership is concerned, 83 per cent of voters said they are currently ‘very happy’ with the way the club is being run. Five per cent, however, said they are not ‘happy at all’ with the owners at this moment in time.

City did not experience the most active or enthralling of transfer windows over the summer, but 50 per cent of voters said they were ‘content’ with it. A slightly smaller percentage (37) said they were ‘very happy’ with how the summer went.

As far as City’s hopes for this season are concerned, an impressive 83 per cent of voters believe City will retain their Premier League crown and win a fifth successive title. However, 50 per cent of voters have said that Liverpool are the club they fear most, with 42 per cent choosing Arsenal.

Off the pitch, the saga concerning the 115 Premier League charges that City are facing does not appear to be concerning supporters too much, with 40 per cent saying they are ‘not worried at all’ about the ongoing situation. 44 per cent have said they are a ‘bit worried’. Only 16 per cent selected ‘very worried’.

City strongly deny all charges brought against them, but should they be found guilty of the alleged breaches, 45 per cent of voters believe the club’s punishment will be a fine. Just eight per cent of voters believe they will be relegated from the Premier League.
