The 19-year-old is eager to experience his first proper taste of professional football, with his exit set to be formalised sometime early next week.
Championship side Preston were one of the clubs to show an interest in the teenage midfielder, while fellow League One sides Bolton, Blackpool, Fleetwood and Shrewsbury also took a look at him.
Similar claims are repeated in other newspapers and websites.
Port Vale manager Andy Crosby was asked about Gore in his press conference on Thursday and he said: “I am glad we are being linked with good, young players. It means we are doing something right. We are obviously aware of Dan. He has been on the fringes of things at Man United, he has had a little bit of taste of first-team football.”
