According to a statement from his brother Landon, former Texas Longhorns 2020 signee Jaden Hullaby was reported missing on Sunday and has since passed suddenly.
Hullaby tweeted, “Forever living through you big brudda.” “I swear to you and the family that I will always love and care for you.” Rest, King.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of death. At 6:23 p.m. on Friday, Hullaby was last spotted in Dallas travelling west on I-30.
Hullaby’s brief Austin coaching tenure was over, and Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian issued a statement on Monday afternoon announcing his passing.
“Learning of Jaden’s passing is such tragic and devastating news,” Sarkisian remarked. “We all loved spending time, coaching, and being around him because he was a wonderful person. We would want to extend our sincere sympathies to his family, friends, and teammates during this extremely trying time. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Prior to entering the gateway, Hullaby played a lot of running back after starting his first two years of the Texas football season on the defensive end of the field.
Hullaby, a 2020 class member from Mansfield Timberview High School, chose the Longhorns over other offers from schools including Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, LSU, Michigan State, and TCU.
Hullaby travelled to New Mexico after his stint in Texas, where he eventually became a tight end. Hullaby had two catches for 44 yards during his stint with the Lobos, including a 38-yard reception in Baton Rouge versus LSU.
