Following their signing of former New England Patriots receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Kansas City Chiefs have released backup quarterback Ian Book, according to NFL.

Book’s release comes despite a two-touchdown performance in Thursday’s preseason finale loss to the Chicago Bears, where he completed six of his nine passes for 71 yards.
