Aidan Linville was killed during a crash in Crossville on Sunday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Crossville Police Department is investigating a crash that happened on Sunday in Crossville that killed 13-year-old Aidan Linville.
Linville and a group from his church in Sparta traveled to East Tennessee to spend a day at Dollywood before returning home. Shortly after the group departed back for Sparta, the crash happened.
“He just had a blast, a lot of fun, and just enjoyed the rides and being with his friends,” Tyler Brandes, a family friend, said.
Brandes was the Boy Scouts Troop 128 leader in Sparta, which Linville had been a part of for the last few years.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Aidan James Linville. Aidan was involved in a tragic car accident on Sunday while returning from a joyful day spent at Dollywood.
Despite the best efforts of local first responders, Cumberland Medical Center ER, and medical staff at UT Medical Center, Aidan’s injuries were too severe, and he passed away.
Aidan was a bright light in our lives—full of unending energy, kindness, and a spirit that touched everyone he met.
He loved his family deeply, cherished his church community, and formed lasting friendships through his involvement in Boy Scouts and school. His passing has left a void that can never be filled.
We are devastated by this sudden loss and are still in the process of making the necessary arrangements. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received from our community during this heartbreaking time. Aidan’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate through this difficult period. Details regarding a memorial service will be shared once they are finalized.
Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.
