Inaki Pena is supported by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick to take Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s place.
The manager of Barcelona, Hansi Flick, expressed his faith in Inaki Pena, their current backup, but he did not rule out adding a goalkeeper to replace the injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen. After undergoing surgery on Monday, Ter Stegen is not anticipated to return until May at the latest.
Regarding their plans for the goalkeeping position, Flick was questioned multiple times; during the last two days, the majority of the conversation in the Catalan city has been on possible additions. But he made a special effort to support Pena first and foremost. “Let me start by saying that we have complete faith in Inaki Pena, who has arrived and behaved in a very professional manner.”
“He is performing really well in training as well as in preseason games.” We are very confident in him. He did not, however, exclude out proposing a substitute. “We need to talk about it, and I need to talk to Dela [Luis de la Fuente, the goalkeeping coach] to hear his thoughts as well. We respect his perspective because he has been here for a long time and knows a lot.
