Following the Laver Cup, Roger Federer gives John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg an invaluable gift.
Both Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe have resigned from their positions at the Laver Cup.
As John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg finished their final season as the Laver Cup captains, Roger Federer offered them a heartfelt farewell gift.
Borg went out on a high as Team Europe lifted the trophy for a fifth time while McEnroe was denied his parting wish.
But neither man walked away empty-handed as Federer presented them with priceless custom Rolex watches.
McEnroe and Borg have officially ended their roles as the respective captains of Team World and Team Europe. The retired legends were brought on by Federer and his agent, the Laver Cup co-creators, for the inaugural edition in 2017.
Two years was the original plan for the legendary tennis rivals. Following a seven-year tenure, the Swiss player gave McEnroe and Borg priceless presents as they turned over control of their squads.
To represent the two team colors, each man was given a personalized Rolex watch with a split blue and red bezel. They had the name of the squad, the competition, and the number of years they served as captains engraved on the reverse. Borg will now be replaced by Yannick Noah, while Andre Agassi will head Team World.
