Emma Raducanu has endured another injury-hit season, and rumours have spread that her lack of tennis has cost the US Open winner her Porsche
Emma Raducanu sent a thinly veiled message to those who claimed her Porsche had been taken away.
The British tennis sensation is once again on the sidelines, having been forced to withdraw from the Korea Open quarter-final in September with a foot injury. Subsequent withdrawals from two tournaments in China and the Hong Kong Open marked a disappointing end to a year that saw her claw her way back into the world’s top 100.
A rumour recently started that Porsche, who has sponsored her since 2022, had dropped her as an ambassador. And the 2021 US Open winner has taken to social media to set the record straight.
When she was appointed as an ambassador for Porsche, she was given a 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet – a car she professed to have “always dreamed” of owning. This was certainly a step up from her previous vehicle, a £5,000 Dacia Sandero.
But when Raducanu was recently seen driving her old car again, rumours swirled that Porsche had ended the partnership and asked for the luxury gift back, reports the Express. However, on Monday, Raducanu shared a photo on her Instagram story of her Porsche safely parked for the night, simply captioning the image, “Good day”.
Porsche has a history of pulling support from athletes not meeting expectations. However, it swiftly quashed any whispers questioning its relationship with Raducanu.
