Sneak Peek Of The Binghamton Black Bears’ ‘Spiedie Night’ Jerseys
The Binghamton Black Bears were down 3-0 to Port Huron on Saturday night and it looked like it was over. Not so fast my friend, this is Federal Prospect League hockey and anything is possible especially for the Binghamton Black Bears.
The Black Bears scored seven unanswered goals for a 7-3 victory to take to in a row from the Prowlers over the weekend (7-4 win on Saturday). They are back home on Friday when the Danbury Hat Tricks come to town.
The Southern Tier is known for spiedies and on Friday, January 15th, it’ll be Spiedie Night at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. The team will be wearing special spiedie jerseys that will be auctioned off online to benefit Fairview Recovery Services, 5 Merrick Street in Binghamton, and Maxwell House in Oneida.
Fairview Recovery Services helps people who suffer from alcoholism and chemical dependency. They help men and women over the age of 18 that live in Broome and surrounding counties with a diagnosis of substance use disorder.
Maxwell House, 239 Broad Street is an 18-bed community residence for men 18 or over in early recovery. Also on Friday night, there’ll be a buy one, get one free spiedie sandwiches. Face-off is at 7 p.m. and I’ll be doing Chuck-a-Puck between the 2nd and 3rd period
