Emma Raducanu spotted back on the road driving £5,000 car bought before US Open after Porsche taken away.
Emma Raducanu has been spotted driving a fairly modest vehicle in comparison to the glamour of her previous Porsche with a throwback to her pre US Open days evident in her current car.
Raducanu bought her Dacia Sandero second-hand just days before the COVID-19 pandemic four years ago paying £5,000 for the vehicle shortly after passing her test.
However the car remained on her drive since her US Open success with her ame seeing her secure lucrative sponsorship deals including with Porsche. But that could be about to change given her current form and not hitting the heights of the US Open.
‘Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022,’ they said in a statement. ‘We are very happy with our partnership,” Porsche said in a statement.
Despite Porsche seeing otherwise, other people have said that it is perhaps a sign of the times in terms of her future with the brand that she had that perk taken away. She landed a 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet as part of her agreement.
But it will. now be set for the scrapyard with the car being retrieved back after the Brit has endured a shaky time since winning at Flushing Meadows. The Daily Mail reported that the car worth £125,000 was taken away and Porsche though said it was only ever loaned on an ad-hoc basis.
Now according to the Sun, she has been seen driving her old reliable again being spotted in the car on several occasions recently. She will next hope to return to action in Hong Kong to end what has been a rocky return to tennis for Raducanu who has shone bright at times but other times have been a lot more difficult.
